Overview

The Infocomm Club (Audio and Visual) offers pupils an exciting 3-year journey into Digital Media. Under the guidance of our teacher and trainer, pupils learn digital photography, animation, movie-making and audio production. Pupils will also get to learn how to operate audio and visual equipment such as sound mixer and light mixer.

Membership is open to all Primary 4 to Primary 6 students who are keen to pick up IT skills.  Besides training pupils to carry out AVA duties for school events, students will also take part in various competitions that are held island-wide. They will get to interact with students from other schools as they represent the school for competitions, and pick up more IT skills along the way.

In 2016, a team of 5 pupils used sensors and coding skills that they had learnt to create a Noise Alert Gadget (NAG). The team used the sound sensor to detect if the noise level at the canteen had reached a certain decibel. When this happens, the school canteen projector flashes a green light (acceptable noise level). It will turn to red (unacceptable noise level) to remind pupils to lower the noise level. This idea was presented at the recent SiTF (Singapore infocomm Technology Federation) competition and won the Silver award.
